You go in, order from the window, they'll give you your tacos then and there, find a seat, flag down a person for your drinks or more tacos and they'll bring it to you! When you're done, pay at the register next to the ordering window. Quick and attentive service (even when they're busy). It's bustling on the weekends bc (remember!) they only serve pastor tacos thurs - sunday!! And the pastor tacos are a must! Small street tacos packed with meat and leaded with garnishes (ask for grilled onions!). The tacos aren't greasy and well seasoned. My favs are steak and pastor. I also drench my tacos in salsas ha! Their sauces are good and they don't overpower the meat flavors. They complement each other well. I have nothing negative to say about this place, just that everyone needs to visit!

This is a San Antonio staple! While it can be a little noisy in the main seating area, it is quieter in the enclosed back room and also easy to take an order to-go! Everything they offer, from al pastor to lengua is PHENOMENAL! Their tortillas are the best around and are super fresh. This is the most authentic Mexican street taco you'll find in the area. I recommend to go right when they open unless you do not mind waiting. The service is quick and it is definitely worth the wait. Highly recommend whether you are a tourist or a local. It is a must.

The fastest and friendliest taquito joint I've been to. It was highly rated by locals (Mexicanos and gringos). I chose three tacos on a plate and finished them is 2 minutes. The order process was insanely fast, perhaps it took 10 seconds from order to plating? The food is 5 stars. I tried all options except lengua, that's for next time. The dining area is clean and nicely decorated. The bathrooms are spotless.

Lunch at Taquitos West Ave was seven tacos for $13. My favorites were the pastor and chorizo. This place has clean stainless steel tables and chairs. The music is fun and the people are happy. Order at one window, eat, then pay at the other window. There are roaming servers who will bring you drinks and salsa. It's early in my search for the best tacos in San Antonio and this place sets the bar extremely high for their competition.

I love a dressed up, expensive meal every now and then, but my heart and soul lies with the Taquitos West Aves of the world. I know I romanticize a lot, but I really mean this one... It is an authentic, no-frills Mexican experience. You walk into a space that looks like it's a converted mechanics shop, get in line, and pick the type of $2 tacos you want. Your options range from Chorizo, Tripes, Steak, Tongue, Delicacy Head Cuts, Brisket, or Al Pastor. I got to the front SO Much faster than I was anticipating as the line moved quick, and was completely unprepared to order. I ended up spraying and praying, ordering 8 tacos, trying everything but the Tripe cuz me and Tripe have just never seen eye to eye. The two Mexican dudes behind the counter worked SO quick, picking out 8 small tortillas, putting them on a plate with the correct meat on each, and topped each one with fresh onions, cucumbers, cilantro, radishes, and a lime. I was confused at first, as you don't pay until AFTER you eat. It is a full honor system with how many tacos you ate. It's a Mexican thing, you wouldn't get it... We took our tacos over to one of the steel tables, put some red salsa on 4 and green salsa on 4 (got to A/B Test the salsas), and went to WORK. These tacos were exactly what you would expect at a place like this. Just mf delicious. Juicy and Fresh. Every bite I was just thanking the Blessed Mother for allowing me to eat food like this. We were fresh off a good workout, so those first 8 tacos didn't stand a chance. I went back and got 6 more, doubling up on brisket, al pastor, and Delicacy Head (hehe). My favorite ended up being the Delicacy Head. Some good Delicacy Head is a lost art in today's society but nobody wants to talk about that... When we got to the front of the line to pay, I said I had 15 tacos instead of 14. I don't know why, but I just want places like this to continue to exist in the world. I'm sure some people get 10 and say they had 8 and feel good about themselves for saving some bread, but that is about the lamest thing you could ever do in my eyes. Idk. Shoutout to my man Luis Cerrillo, the owner of this place. According to their website, he started this business in 2008 with the goal of bringing street-style mini tacos from Jalisco, Mexico to Texas. Mission Accomplished, Luis. Job Finished. OMG this place is amazing! Tacos were so good. The salsas were spot on. Service was excellent. I will definitely be back the next time I visit home.

Amazing food, unique atmosphere. I really enjoyed eating at this location. It is a hike from my house but well worth the trip.

Tacos como en Mexico Mexican customs with the right music always feels at home You order you eat then you pay LOVE THIS PLACE.

If you're in search of authentic and mouth-watering tacos, look no further than Taquitos West Ave. This place keeps it simple yet exceptional with one main offering: TACOS! You get to choose your own protein, and let me tell you, the steak option did not disappoint. It was seasoned and cooked to perfection, creating a flavorful experience that tantalized my taste buds. The process is seamless: you order, they prepare, you enjoy. The staff is efficient, making sure you have everything you need, including fetching drinks while you dive into your meal. Payment is quick and painless after you're done savoring your meal. The highlight for me was the fresh salsa selection, especially the spicy red one - it's a must-try for those who love a good kick. The ambiance is straightforward and focused on the food, which speaks for itself. However, there's a slight hitch in the cleanliness perception due to the food prep process. The person preparing the tacos wasn't wearing gloves, which might be off-putting for some as it involves direct hand contact with the food. This could easily be improved for a better visual assurance of hygiene practices. Parking can be a bit of a challenge since it's limited, so you might end up parking on the street. Despite this, the quality of the tacos makes it well worth the minor inconvenience. I'm already planning my next visit to try the other protein options. Taquitos West Ave is definitely a spot that taco enthusiasts should not miss!

Taquitos West Avenue, we have a saying for you now. When I asked my partner our over view on this restaurant he said and I quote "five all the time!". The line out the door really says something about this place. If people are willing to stand outside just for these tacos, then you know these tacos are something else! We stood in line for about 15 minutes but you know your food is fresh and made for you right then and there. Now if you're going to eat here make sure to get a Coke with your tacos it just completes the meal. I feel like there is an unspoken rule that everyone follows. Once you're done eating, you pay and go. No one sticks around to chit chat it's all about eating and going because this place has TONS of people coming in all the time! This wasn't the first time eating here and won't be the last!
